Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greets Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Astana Airport
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed his Turkish counterpart President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan upon his arrival in Kazakhstan for a state visit, Qazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
Upon entering Kazakh airspace, President Erdoğan’s aircraft was flanked by Kazakhstan Air Defense Force fighters, which accompanied him until touchdown in Astana.
A ceremonial honor guard was lined up at the airport, while children waving flags greeted the Turkish president and his delegation, welcoming him in both Turkish and Kazakh.
Helicopters carrying the flags of Türkiye and Kazakhstan also flew over the runway as part of the official reception ceremony.
Young musicians performed the Dombra composition for the Turkish leader in the airport terminal.
Earlier, Qazinform reported President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Astana on Wednesday for a state visit to Kazakhstan.
