It is crucial to improve anti-terror infrastructure - President Nazarbayev
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has chaired a session of the Security Council in the Akorda presidential residence today, Kazinform has learnt from the president's press service.
At the session, participants discussed the progress of implementation of the National Security Strategy in 2014, strengthening of Kazakhstan's Armed Forces and the most pressing issues for the upcoming period. Presidential Aide - Secretary of the Security Council Nurlan Yermekbayev reported on the state of national security and day-to-day functioning of the government agencies in that sphere. President Nazarbayev stressed that the assumed measures helped ensure observance of national interests at an adequate level. At the same time, there are extremist, terrorist and economic risks caused by global and regional processes. The Head of State noted in this light it is high time to improve the existing anti-terror infrastructure. Nursultan Nazarbayev also pointed out that the Government and local executive bodies should constantly analyze economic situation in the country and in the markets of our key trade partners and assume adequate measures, if necessary. "In the current context utmost attention should be paid to preservation of inner political stability and avoidance of social and labor conflicts," the Kazakh leader added. The President emphasized that Kazakhstan continues to use best endeavors to settle the situation in Ukraine peacefully. To achieve that, Kazakhstan will use all its diplomatic resources. Problems of military, social, environmental and information security were touched upon at the session as well. In conclusion, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions to the Government.
