The ex score is now 4-3

Shakira has unveiled the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup - “Dai Dai,” recorded together with Nigerian artist Burna Boy.

The track premieres on May 14. Shakira previously contributed to the tournament’s musical legacy with Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) for the 2010 World Cup and performances during the 2006 and 2014 tournaments.

The singer teased the new track on social media with a video filmed at Maracanã Stadium in Brazil.

Notably, Shakira is now officially connected to four World Cups: 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2026. Her ex-husband Gerard Piqué played in three tournaments: 2010, 2014, and 2018. By total official World Cup appearances, the singer has now surpassed the former Spain defender.

Family now streams on Peacock

NBCUniversal has officially launched development on four TV series set in the Fast & Furious universe. The announcement was made by Vin Diesel, who will also serve as executive producer.

One of the series is heading to Peacock, while the others remain in different stages of development.

The Fast & Furious franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Across 11 films, it has grossed more than $7 billion worldwide.

Pixel cats take over desktops

A new game called Sill Cats has arrived on Steam, channeling early-2000s computer aesthetics.

The game turns users’ screens into a virtual cat apartment: pixel cats run across windows, jump over tabs, play with the cursor, sleep and casually observe everything happening on the desktop. Players are already calling it “pixel anti-stress.”

Gets weirder and smellier again

On May 9, the 61st Venice Biennale opened in Italy and quickly became the center of controversy.

One of the most discussed performances was artist Florentina Holzinger’s “bell girl” installation dedicated to the climate crisis.

Another viral project, SeaWorld Venice, featured a woman riding a jet ski inside a pool filled with recycled visitors’ urine. Social media users compared it to an old video by German rapper Shirin David, prompting the artist to jokingly comment on the possible “plagiarism.”

Officially begins

The 79th Cannes Film Festival has officially opened in France. Stars including Demi Moore, Jane Fonda, Heidi Klum, James Franco and Elijah Wood appeared on the opening ceremony red carpet.

During the opening, Peter Jackson received an honorary Palme d’Or. The festival runs through May 23, with Park Chan-wook serving as jury president.

Ancient Greece now comes with Travis Scott soundtrack

Christopher Nolan gave a major interview to Time and revealed new details about his upcoming film Odyssey.

Nolan admitted he had dreamed of making The Odyssey for more than 20 years and first came up with the image of the sinking Trojan horse during the failed Troy project back in 2004.

The film will become the first feature shot entirely on IMAX cameras, with custom silent camera casings developed specifically for production.

Lupita Nyong'o will play two roles - Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra.

Nolan also almost completely avoided CGI. Real ships sailed between Morocco, Greece and Italy, while storm scenes were filmed in real conditions.

Travis Scott will appear in the film as well. Nolan explained the casting by saying that ancient Greek poetry was passed down orally and, in many ways, functioned similarly to modern rap.

Matt Damon called Odyssey the hardest shoot of his career because of the extreme weather conditions and constant filming across multiple countries.
