Heads of CSTO member states sign joint statement
MOSCOW. KAZINFORM. - During the today's session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization the leaders of the CSTO countries including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have adopted a joint statement.
The paper noted that the establishment of the system of collective security is possible on the basis of a polycentric system centered on the principles of justice and equity. To counter security threats it is needed to strengthen international cooperation. In their joint statement the CSTO heads of states voiced concern over the growing danger of terrorism and the spread of extremism in Central Asia, including the Afghan factor, and emphasized the need for restoring peace in Ukraine and achieving a peace settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. It should be noted that the CSTO heads of states approved a joint statement, 19 resolutions and two protocols. The members of the organization confirmed readiness to expand cooperation with the UN, OSCE, SCO and other international and regional organizations.
