Girl, 7, killed by hit-and-run driver in Almaty

The tragic accident happened at the intersection of Zhansugurov and Chigorin streets. Two sisters aged 19 and 7 were crossing the street when an Opel car appeared out of thin air and struck and killed the younger girl. The older girl was critically injured and rushed to the nearest hospital. Witnesses managed to detain the careless Opel driver who tried to flee the scene. He was taken into custody. An investigation is underway.
