Famous Kazakh and Turkmen scientist K.Amanniyazov dies in Almaty
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Famous Kazakh and Turkmen scientist, leading specialist in the field of regional geology and oil and gas geology, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, academician Kurban Amanniyazov has suddenly passed away in Almaty.
K.Amanniyazov was born April 22, 1932 in Turkmenistan in the city of Krasnovodsk. In 1957 he graduated from the Turkmen State University (TSU), Leningrad State University. In 1960 he earned Ph.D, Doctor of Science. In 1981 he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmen SSR, and in 1993 - Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. K.Amanniyazov was the director of the Institute of Geology under Turkmenian Academy of Sciences, Professor of Turkmenistan's State University, and head of the laboratory of the Caspian Sea Desert Institute under the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. In 1995-2012 he worked in Aktau State University named after Sh. Yessenov. He is the author of more than 400 monographs, textbooks and books. He was awarded a pin "For excellent successes in work: Higher School of the USSR", gold medals of the VDNKh (All-Union Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) and the International Geological Congress, a medal "For merits in development of science in Kazakhstan", a medal of Russia "For faith and goodness". Moreover, Mr. Amanniyazov was the honorary Citizen of Fort-Shevchenko, Mangystau region.
