Famous architect Rustem Seidalin dies
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Honored architect of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and the USSR State Prize owner, one of the founders of architectural theory and practice, a prominent public figure of Kazakhstan, Rustem Seidalin has passed away in the city of Almaty
Rustem Seidalin was born in August 24, 1927 in Kyzylorda. He graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1951. In 1965 he defended his thesis. Back in Kazakhstan he worked in the city of Karaganda.
In 1966 R.Seydalin was invited to work in the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute as the head of the department for architecture of residential and public buildings.
In 1973 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Construction Committee of the Kazakh SSR. In this capacity he worked until 1988. For many years he was the chairman of the Union of Architects of Kazakhstan.
R.Seidalin has projected many well-known architectural structures, such as the Memorial of Glory in the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, House of Friendship and a complex of buildings in the Republic Square in Almaty, Uralsk memorial, museum of Ch.Valikhanov in Kerbulak district of Almaty region and others. In 1970 he was awarded the title "Honored architect of the Kazakh SSR", in 1979 - laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, in 1982 - laureate of the State Prize of the USSR. He was a member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.
