Facebook page of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Singapore gains 9000 votes in support of anti-nuclear policy of Kazakhstan

ASTANA. August 28. KAZINFORM «Towards a Nuclear Free World» panel discussions chaired by Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, were held in Singapore on August, 23 2013 on the occasion of the International Day against Nuclear Test.

Professor K.Mahbubani emphasized the key role of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the global nuclear disarmament process, noting that his decisions to close Semipalatinsk Test Site and voluntary refusal of nuclear arsenal gained recognition of the international community.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Singapore Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev briefed on Kazakhstan's policies in trengthening the nuclear security regime, in particular about the «ATOM» Project. Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev mentioned that since beginning of August about 9000 Facebook users from Singapore, India, Pakistan, Italy, France, USA and Australia have supported the Embassy's campaign «Arm-to-Arm to Disarm the World» to commemorate victims of the nuclear tests.

Reference: as proposed by President Nazarbayev, the UN General Assembly declared August 29 as the "International Day against Nuclear Tests".
