Did Kim Kardashian help Ferrari win?
While Lewis Hamilton celebrated a major win, David Beckham earned a Hollywood star, Tyra Banks sued Netflix, and World Cup fans suddenly became experts on Cape Verde, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The first call went to Kim
After securing his first Formula 1 victory with Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton celebrated with a FaceTime call to Kim Kardashian. In a video shared online, Kardashian congratulated the seven-time world champion, saying: “We’re so happy! You killed it! We’re so proud of you!”
Hamilton's triumph at the Spanish Grand Prix marked his first full Grand Prix victory since joining Ferrari and the 106th win of his Formula 1 career.
A star for a star
David Beckham became the first footballer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The former England captain was awarded the 2,849th star on the famous boulevard in Los Angeles, recognizing not only his football career but also his influence on fashion, entertainment and popular culture.
During the ceremony, Beckham was introduced by Victoria Beckham and Tom Cruise. He described the honor as "truly incredible" and said he never imagined a working-class English footballer would one day receive such recognition.
After retiring in 2013, Beckham remained active in the sport as co-owner of Inter Miami CF, which signed Lionel Messi in 2023. In 2025, he was also knighted by King Charles III.
America's Next Lawsuit
Tyra Banks has filed a lawsuit against Netflix over the documentary series Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. The model and television host claims producers edited more than three hours of interview footage down to just 16 minutes, creating the false impression that she was aware of a contestant's alleged sexual assault and attempted to avoid discussing it.
Banks is seeking damages and an injunction preventing the use of her likeness in the project's soundtrack. According to the lawsuit, the documentary triggered a wave of backlash against her, while her ice cream shop in Australia was reportedly targeted by review bombers.
As if two Olympic golds weren’t enough
Two-time Olympic champion Eileen Gu has graduated from Stanford University. The freestyle skiing star shared photos from the graduation ceremony on Instagram.
During her time at Stanford, Gu balanced studies at one of the world's most prestigious universities with competing at the highest level of international sport.
Dress to impress
The Democratic Republic of Congo may have won the World Cup's best-dressed award before kicking a ball. Upon arriving in Houston, the players traded standard tracksuits for custom-made tuxedos featuring leopard prints, cheetah brooches and embroidery inspired by African culture.
The outfits referenced the team's nickname, the Leopards, while many observers also noted the influence of Congo's La Sape fashion culture.
The 2026 tournament marks DR Congo's first World Cup appearance since 1974. The team opens its campaign against Portugal on June 17.

Mercedes later shared footage of Antonelli receiving a new white towel embroidered with the message: "To Kimi from Kim."
Nobody expected
Nobody expected Cape Verde to become one of the biggest talking points of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Following the surprise 0-0 draw against Spain, social media users flooded platforms with jokes and memes, poking fun at the tournament favorites for failing to beat a nation many admitted they could not even locate on a map.
The result also turned Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Dias, better known as Vozinha, into an overnight internet sensation. Before the match, his Instagram account had roughly 50,000 followers. As Cape Verde's remarkable campaign gained international attention, his audience grew dramatically, eventually surpassing 11.4 million followers.
