Azat Peruashev announced his resignation during today's party congress.

He then proposed Vice-Speaker of the Majilis, Daniya Yespaeva, as his successor, highlighting her extensive political experience.

"A financier, banker, and Vice-Speaker of the Majilis. Daniya Yespayeva has already written her name into Kazakhstan's political history — she was the first woman presidential candidate in our history in 2019. She is the co-author of the parliamentary opposition bill, the law on the return of illegally withdrawn assets, the law on individual bankruptcy, banking legislation, the Entrepreneurial Code, and the law on amnesty for citizens. She is the first female Vice-Speaker of the Majilis from the parliamentary opposition, and with our support, she will become the first female leader of a parliamentary party," Peruashev emphasized.

Following the vote, delegates supported Yespayeva's candidacy, electing her as the new Chairperson of the Ak Zhol Democratic Party.

Earlier, the AMANAT Party congress approved the merger with the ADILET Party to build a Just Kazakhstan.
