The statement was made by President of Russia Vladimir Putin as he opened the expanded participation session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the Kremlin on 23 December, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Putin remarked that Russia's new defense control center boasts computer support, which is yet unparalleled in the world. In his opinion, coordination between the CSTO member states will be improved once the countries are connected to the center.

The President of Russia also said that on 23 December Russia successfully test-launched the rocket Angara A5. The rocket has been in development for the last ten years. In particular, it will be able to put up to 34 tonnes of cargoes into a stationary orbit. According to Vladimir Putin, the rocket will serve not only economic needs. It will also be used to bolster the defensive capacity of Russia and hence of all the CSTO member states, BelTA reported.
