Construction of residential houses, kindergartens on the rise as PM Akhmetov visits Almaty
ALMATY. December 3. KAZINFORM Today, within the framework of his working trip to Almaty city Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov has surveyed the ramshackle residential houses that are to be demolished and the construction site of a new kindergarten.
In line with the program on demolition of unrepairable residential houses, the city administration alloted land plots in seven districts of Almaty where new apartment blocks will be erected. It is planned to rehouse people from the dwellings that were condemned to their new ones in the upcoming three years.
In general, 55 ramshackle residential houses or 563 apartments are believed to be demolished. New accommodation will be provided on 'apartment for apartment' basis.
During his visit to the construction site of the kindergarten in Almalinsky district, Prime Minister Akhmetov was told that 20 kindergartens for 3 370 children have been built in the city since 2008. Prior to that construction of such facilities in Almaty was grounded to a halt for more than a decade.
