Communal services' debt of Almaty residents highest in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. July 16. KAZINFORM - Receivables of Almaty residents for public services are the highest in the country. This has been announced today at a meeting of the Government by the Vice-Minister of Regional Development Serik Nokin.
According to him, at the end of the last heating season the debts of Kazakh consumers on utility services were KZT 6.5 billion. However, on July 1 of this year, it was KZT 7.3 billion, that is, there was an increase by KZT 698 million, or 11%.
As stated by Nokin, the increase of accrued expenses was due to two regions: the city of Almaty - to KZT 743 million and the South Kazakhstan region by KZT 92 million.
"At the same time the indebtedness for three regions - Almaty, Astana and South Kazakhstan region totals to KZT 5.7 billion, or nearly 75% of accounts receivable at the country as a whole. Most arrears are in Almaty - KZT 4.2 bln as of June 1 of the current year ", informed Mr. Nokin.
As for other regions there are KZT 1.5 billion of public debt, which over the period (from the end of the heating season until July 1) decreased by KZT135 million. The efficient work with debtors has been done in Akmola, Almaty, Kyzylorda and West Kazakhstan regions.
