Belarus attends Almaty Book Fair

MINSK. April 15. KAZINFORM A Belarusian delegation of book publishers, printers and distributors led by First Deputy Information Minister Lilia Ananich took part in the 7th International Book and Printing Exhibition "Along the Great Silk Road" in Almaty on 11-13 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The expo featured printed goods of more than 100 publishing houses and organizations from 15 countries.

On its first day the exhibition hosted a presentation of the national exposition "Books of the Republic of Belarus" and a new Belarusian publishing project, a book "Belarus-Kazakhstan" from the Concord of Hearts series.

The Belarusian delegation met with the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan to discuss a draft intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in press and information. The Union of Press Publishers and Distributors of Belarus and the Kazakhstan Association of Press Publishers and Distributors signed an agreement on long-term cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation also held talks with representatives of Kazakhstani profile organizations on cooperation in the information sector, BelTA reports.
