Atyrau Oil Refinery to raise crude processing to 6.1mn tons annually
Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas, inspected key production facilities and reviewed investment projects during a working visit to the Atyrau Oil Refinery, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the company’s press service, the refinery plans to process 3.6 million tons of oil by the end of August, producing more than 1.2 million tons of motor gasoline, over 1.3 million tons of diesel fuel, and around 148,000 tons of jet fuel.
The yield of light petroleum products has exceeded 80%, while processing depth surpassed 90%. Operational efficiency measures enabled to raise average daily diesel output to 7,100 tons, compared to 5,500 tons per day in 2024.
17 strategic and investment projects are currently underway at the Atyrau Oil Refinery. As part of the transition to an extended turnaround time (ETR), 47 measures are planned to raise annual crude processing capacity from 5.5 million to 6.1 million tons. Current progress stands at 23%. The project provides for converting process units to a three‑year, non‑stop cycle and is aimed at ensuring stable operation of the deep oil refining facility while increasing the yield of light petroleum products.
Following his working visit, the head of KMG instructed the Atyrau Oil Refinery management to strictly adhere to investment project deadlines, continue measures to improve production efficiency, ensure reliable and safe operation, and expand the use of digital technologies.
