Astana and Almaty among 5 best cities for business

"This year Forbes for the first time ranked cities, located on the territory of the former Soviet Union, attractive in terms of doing business. We consider not only solvency of the population and tax burden, but visa regime, the status of the Russian language, and the conditions for registration of non-residents", the magazine reads. Moscow was named the reference city and, thus, was not considered in the ranking. First place went to Minsk, second and third places - to Tallinn and Vilnius. "Almaty and Astana are among 5 best cities. It is not surprised because Kazakhstan is trying to pursue modern economic policy despite many institutional problems", Forbes reads. Cities of Central Asia completed the list.
