American military West Point cadets visited Kazakh Military Institute

ASTANA. April 15. KAZINFORM – Within the exchange and strengthening of friendly relations between the two top military schools the Military Institute of Land Forces of Kazakhstan in Almaty has been visited by the Military Academy cadets of «West Point», the U.S. Armed Forces.

The visit was part of the five-year plan of military cooperation between the Defense Ministries of Kazakhstan and the United States, the press service of Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan informs.

 Some of the ten cadets who have arrived this time already passed the troop training in the Kazakh military college last year. They expressed a desire to visit Kazakhstan again, and they made interested in the trip their other classmates. During the internship, West Point students acquainted with the training facilities of the education establishment, and took part in all the activities that have been conducted in accordance with the Military Institute curriculum.

 As part of their learning activities the cadets made presentations on military subjects and also spoke about the history and modern development of West Point Military Academy, which is one of the oldest military schools of America.

 For a larger view of American students about Kazakhstan the Military Institute of Land Forces  organized excursions when they went to see the National Museum, the House of Officers, Park of 28 Panfilov Heroes, Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abay, the Lermontov Russian Drama Theatre and other cultural places.

 West Point students noted that training of officers in the Military Institute of the Army is at the highest level. "In your institute there is modern educational material base, classes are equipped with everything necessary for successful training process. You have a great field base, which is equipped with modern weapons and equipment,” expressed his admiration the West Point cadet Richard Hansen. “Our training has been fruitful. We thank you for the opportunity to learn more about Kazakhstan, its culture, traditions, and in acquiring practical knowledge of learning the Kazakh language”.
