Almaty tops Central Asian cities in terms of cost of living

Numbeo is the world's largest cost of living database compiled based on user reviews, prices for renting, food, restaurants, and other indicators.

As of January 2024, Almaty city has topped Central Asian cities in the ranking. Coming in second is the Kazakh capital Astana. Uzbekistan’s Tashkent and Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek are third and fourth in the Cost of Living Index 2024 by Numbeo.

According to the ranking, Singapore is the most expensive city in Asia. Almaty and Astana ranked Asia’s 40^th and 48^th cities in terms of cost of living, respectively.
