Alexander Bublik reaches Stuttgart ATP 250 semifinals
Kazakhstan’s top men’s tennis player, Alexander Bublik, has advanced to the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart after a straight-sets win in the quarterfinals, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
The world No. 11 and third seed on grass in Germany defeated France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, ranked 93rd in the world, in a tightly contested match.
Bublik secured a 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) win in 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the match, he served 11 aces and committed three double faults.
With this victory, Bublik advances to the semifinals, where he will face the winner of the clash between Italy’s Mattia Bellucci and American star Taylor Fritz.
Earlier, in the doubles event, Alexander Bublik had competed alongside Australia’s Nick Kyrgios, but the pair withdrew from the tournament in the second round.
