Al-Farabi National University & Japan Embassy discuss coop
ALMATY. August 10. KAZINFORM — Almaty has held a meeting of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University scientists with Yuzo Harada, Japanese Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Naoto Canazei, Second Secretary of the Embassy.
The event discussed issues of cooperation in the field of education, research and international relations between universities of the two countries. So, students and undergraduates of the Kazakh University undertake research internships in Japan, training under an agreement with the Nuclear Energy Agency of Japan, PhD doctoral work under the Japanese supervizers. Lecturers participate in international conferences and training courses.
Ambassador of Japan thanked the University reps for warm welcome and expressed hope for further fruitful partnership between Kazakhstani and Japanese educational institutions.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has long-standing close ties with such organizations and institutions of higher education of Japan as Tokyo University of agriculture and technology, Tokyo Technological Institute, Osaka University of International Relations, University of Tsukuba, School of Engineering of Tokyo university, Waseda and Saitama universities, Nuclear Energy Agency of Japan and the Japan Foundation.
