A/H1N1 and influenza B circulate in Almaty city

168 flu cases were detected since last November in the city of Almaty, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the deputy head of the sanitary and epidemiological control department Aseel Kalykova, most of them up to 72% tested positive for A/H1N1 flu and the rest for influenza B.

of which 23.8% cases were detected in pregnant women, and 23.2% in children, she told a briefing at the regional communications service.

She stressed the main cause of flu spread is the refusal to get vaccinated. She highlighted flu vaccination is the most efficient way to prevent infection and its complications.

It was earlier reported, that 47,605 acute respiratory infections were recorded in Karaganda region since the beginning of the epidemiological season.
