5 killed in Indian Air Force plane crash

Officials said Saturday that five Indian Air Force personnel died after an An-32 transport aircraft crashed in the northeastern state of Assam, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Anadolu Ajansı.
According to the Indian Air Force, the "aircraft met with an accident" during a routine training flight in Assam's Jorhat region.
“Crash site management and initial enquiries are on at this time,” it wrote on the social media platform X.
The air force said it has constituted a court of inquiry to investigate the cause of the accident.
Previously, 2 Indian Air Force pilots were killed in a fighter jet crash in March 2026.
