The five-day event, held at the National Speed Skating Oval, features 51 competition events.

Around 1,000 humanoid robots appeared at the opening ceremony, showcasing advances in the technology and its expanding applications in real-world workplaces and daily life. Scenario-based events will no longer be held in simulated venues but in real-world settings such as factories, hotels and model homes, pushing humanoid robots from "demonstration tools" toward "practical productivity."

The games are jointly hosted by the Beijing municipal government, China Media Group, the World Robot Cooperation Organization and the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup International Council.

Organizers said the event is designed to promote technological exchange, industrial collaboration and the development of embodied intelligence.

The first World Humanoid Robot Games, held in August 2025, attracted 280 teams and over 500 humanoid robots from 16 countries.
