Kazakh teen dies in surfing accident in Sri Lanka

A Kazakhstani national tragically passed away in a hospital in Sri Lanka after getting caught in the water while surfing, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to the Kazakh foreign ministry’s official spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov, on March 5, a Kazakhstani, 16yo, fell into the water and was rescued while surfing. Unfortunately, the teenager died in the hospital on March 10.
Smadiyarov went on to say that all necessary assistance is provided to repatriate the teen's body to the Kazakhstan.
The late 16-year-old was an Almaty native. His family has lived in Sri Lanka for the past couple of years.
