KIEV. July 14. KAZINFORM Ukraine's former President and leader of the Our Ukraine Party Viktor Yushchenko will not be on the list of that party for the 2012 parliamentary elections, the party's press service said on Thursday referring to the statement made by Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Our Ukraine Party Sergei Bondarchuk; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"Instead of that, Yushchenko will have a chance to get to the Verkhovna Rada /parliament/ as a majority candidate," he said.
"The political council of Our Ukraine decided that the party members, who were high-ranking officials during 2005-2020, should not be included in the party's list of candidates," Bondarchuk said. "If they have the desire /to be a parliamentary candidate/, they should pass the majority vote, which realistically is public lustration."
Earlier, Yushchenko said that he might participate in the next parliamentary elections.
