Yokohama triathlon worlds postponed by nuclear crisis

TOKYO. April 19. KAZINFORM The world championship triathlon race in Yokohama of Japan scheduled for next month has been postponed possibly until September due to the ongoing nuclear crisis in Fukushima Prefecture, the Japan Triathlon Union said Tuesday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The race was originally scheduled for May 14-15 in Yokohama, some 300 kilometers south of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear station crippled by the March 11 magnitude 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
Beijing Olympic champion Jan Frodeno of Germany had been among the first to withdraw from the event as the International Triathlon Union stuck to its original plan.
