According to the forest cultivation package plan for 2024, it is expected to plant 14,568,000 young plants on an area of 2,828 hectares. Half of them will be planted in spring.

Ametov said the nature reserve is facing a labor shortage, including seasonal workers, drivers, firefighters, and tractor operators. He said the nature reserve concluded agreements with the Toraigyrov University and Pavlodar State Technology College to train forestry workers. As of today, it has 307 workers, including 285 state inspectors. Their average age is 40-45.

The nature reserve has 39 units of firefighting trucks, 21 units of patrol vehicles, and 85 tractors. This year eight more tractors were bought. Seven tractors and 34 JacT6 fire trucks will be acquired soon.

It is worth reminding that 15 million trees will be planted in the cities and villages of Kazakhstan by the end of 2025, as part of fulfillment of the President’s instruction set in 2021. So far, slightly more than 10 million trees have already been planted.
