Yanukovych proposes holding next CIS summit in Kyiv in October 2014

KYIV. October 26. KAZINFORM Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has proposed holding a meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State in Kyiv in October 2014, dedicating it to the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi occupation.
He made such a proposal at the CIS summit in Minsk on Friday.
"We propose holding the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State at the end of October 2014 in Kyiv, dedicating it to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi invaders," he said.
He said that Ukraine supports the initiative to declare the year 2015 as the Year of World War II veterans and would focus on preparations for marking the 70th anniversary of the WWII Victory during its presidency of the CIS.
"Preparations for marking another anniversary of the Great Victory is of particular importance to our state, because the year 2014 is the year of the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi occupation," Yanukovych said.
