XXI plenary session of Foreign Investors? Council kicks off in Kostanay

Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev opened the session introducing new members of the Council - Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Peter Voser, Executive Vice President for Europe, CIS, Middle East and Africa of Mitsubishi Tetsuro Terada, Director General of RUSAL UK Oleg Deripaska, President of TeliaSonera Lars Nyberg, Chairman of the Kazakh National Bank Grigory Marchenko, aide to the President of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Bishimbayev. Kazakh Minister of industry and Trade Asset Issekeshev reported on realization of the Protocol of the XX plenary session of the Foreign Investors? Council. Afterwards EBRD President Thomas Mirow made a report ?Internal activities on improvement of access to traditional and alternative resources of financing?. Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov noted that dynamical development of Kazakhstan?s economy allowed to create conditions for successful functioning of traditional resources of financing. ?In the current conditions it is important to pay attention to other financing channels?, the Minister emphasized. According to the Minister, the first direction is diversification of the economy?s financing sources; the second goal is to increase the volume of direct foreign investments and develop new financing mechanisms. The third ? mobilization of domestic resources of enterprises and economy. Forthly, it is neccessary to develop alternative instruments of attraction of investments into the country's economy. The Minister noted that Kazakhstan created the legal basis for using the Islamic financing instruments and mechanisms of private-public partnership. ?Your participation and initiatives are very important in implementation of our common goals, which have been voiced here today. Our joint work should become mutually beneficial for all parties?, B.Sultanov said.
