World leaders confirmed their support of Kazakhstan's initiatives to hold OSCE Summit in Astana

WASHINGTON. April 14. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Within the working trip to Washington Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev held a number of meetings with the leaders of other countries. In particular, the President met with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi and Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama.
"These meetings were very important since we had an opportunity to discuss most urgent issues of the world and bilateral cooperation", N. Nazarbayev said at a briefing following the second session of the Global Nuclear Security Summit.
"The leaders confirmed their support of convocation of the OSCE Summit in Astana. Now we must get ready for this important political event scheduled for lat autumn", the President noted.
