World Bank: Energy efficiency will help Kazakhstan to boost economic competitiveness

"Energy efficiency is one of the priorities for the World Bank Group. We are ready to assist your country in achieving the objectives in the area through the recently approved energy efficiency projects in Kazakhstan. The projects are to improve public and social facilities energy efficiency and promote the development and implementation of financial instruments", said Saroj Kumar Jha. He also spoke about the international experience of financing and introduction of energy efficiency measures including the experience of Bulgaria, China, Poland and Lithuania. First vice-minister of Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau noted that Kazakhstan has created all necessary conditions for the development of energy saving. The conference focused on three main themes: the establishment and practical activity of the effective renewable energy Fund, business models, credit lines of energy service companies, as well as financing and promotion of energy efficiency programs in the housing sector.
