Woman detained after trying to hire hitman to kill husband

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A resident of Kokshetau, aged 55, has been detained for organization of contract killing of her 59-year-old husband.
According to preliminary data, in early December the woman decided to hire a hitman. Officers arrested the woman on December 5 when they said she tried to hire a man, who turned out to be a police detective, to kill her husband. Police officers arranged a meeting with the suspect after receiving a tip that she was looking for someone to murder her husband. They said she provided the undercover officer a photo of her husband. Police say she promised to pay 200,000 tenge ($1100) for the crime. Criminal case has been opened. The investigation is underway. Motive of the crime is unknown.
