Winners of Kazakh President's Tennis Cup determined

In a men’s single play Mikhail Kukushkin, who won over his team mate Andrey Golubev, met with the number 97 of the world tennis Dudi Sela from Israel. The weather made its adjustments to the start of the match, and the winners were determined at the roofed court of the capital’s SC “Daulet” where final matches were held.

Having won the first set 7:5, Mikhail Kukushkin lost in the second 2:6. In the beginning if the third set, his back started aching and medical care was needed, however Kazakh sportsman continued fighting for every ball, but as a result he lost 6:7 (6:8). The match lasted for 2 hours 59 minutes’, - reports the agency.

The victory gave $ 18,00 bonus and 110 points to ATP rating to Sela.

Kazakh duo couldn’t win in doubles. In the final match Andrey Golubev and Mikhail Kukushkin lost to the Italians Riccardo Ghedin and Caludio Grassi. The match’s result is 6:3, 3:6, 10:8. Previously in the semifinals our tennis players won over the duo Ti Chen (Taipei)/Yong-Kyu Lim (Korea) having a score of7:6, 3:6, 10:7.

The Ukrainians – Kichenok sisters – won in doubles among women. In the finals Nadezhda and Lyudmila Kichenok won over the first Russian seed pair Nina Bratchikova and Valeriya Solovyeva in two sets 6:2, 6:2.

Nadezhda Kichenok also won an individual women’s game of the tournament. In the final fight the Ukrainian won over the first seed of the competitions Maria Joao Koehler from Portugal with a score of 6:4, 7:5, who became the winner of the Presidential Cup last year.

Let us recall, the prize fund of the capital’s tournament amounted to 225 000 dollars. It involved sportsmen from 25 countries of the world.
