What countries did Kazakh President visit in 2023?
In 2023, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spent 33 days visiting foreign countries and 17 days visiting the regions of Kazakhstan. This is what Berik Uali, Press Secretary of the Head of State, said in an interview with Kazinform News Agency.
According to him, the Kazakh President flew over 152,921 kilometers and spent 243 hours and 46 minutes in planes and helicopters, which is equal to flying around the Earth’s Equator approximately four times.
He reminded that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a state visit to China, official visits to the UAE, Vietnam, Germany, China, and working visits to Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Russia, the U.S., Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan and the UAE.
As part of his state visit to China, the Kazakh President held important talks with the Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping. The sides discussed the issues of development of all-round cooperation between the two countries in trade and economic, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, educational and scientific, financial spheres, as well as transport-transit sector. The Head of State participated in a ceremony of opening of Kazakhstan’s National Pavilion on the JD.com platform and the ceremony of laying a foundation of Kazakhstan’s logistics center in Xi’an dry port.
On October 17-18, at the invitation of Xi Jinping, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the III One Belt, One Road International Cooperation Forum, which was also attended by the leaders of 20 countries and representatives of more than 130 states.
One of the most remarkable moments of the visit became the ceremony of inauguration of the bust of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, world-famous medieval philosopher and scientist, in the territory of the Beijing Language and Culture University. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region can be named historical, Berik Uali added.
During the official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Head of State held negotiations with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the priority areas of development of trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. He also had a number of meetings with the representatives of the UAE business community.
In the course of his official visit to Vietnam, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with President of this country Vo Van Thuong. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in trade-economic, investment, energy, transport-logistics, agro-industrial and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
On September 28-29, the Head of State paid an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. In Berlin, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholtz and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The President also participated in the meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Germany and had a number of meetings with the representatives of German business community.
