Western Europe ? Western China project to create 50,000 jobs by 2010 ? Kazakh President

ASTANA. May 15. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Making a speech at the XII Congress of the People?s Democratic Party Nur Otan, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev told about plans on development of the transit potential of Kazakhstan?s transport system.
?We have started creation of the international transit corridor ?Western Europe ? Western China? from Western China to Europe via Kazakhstan and Russia. Five international financial institutes have already started investing USD 3.5 billion into the project. Kazakhstan?s section on the road will make 3.5 thousand kilometers?, the President said.
?The project is supposed to create 50,000 new jobs and open big transit opportunities before 2010. The road will cross four densely populated regions of Kazakhstan. Afterwards we will start construction of ?Khorgos-Zhetygay? railroad, the second powerful communication line with the People?s Republic of China?, N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
