WEEKLY REVIEW: Kazakhstan's universities rank among the best globally
On Monday, September 15 PM Massimov reported to the Head of State on the current work of the Government and its plans for the period ahead. The President noted that a number of agreements aimed at improving economic relations were reached following the results of the negotiations held in Dushanbe with the leaders of Russia, China and other countries.
"The world markets experience decrease in price for our critical raw material, namely, oil and gas. We see decline in industrial output, decline in oil production and export of some products, and decrease of sales with neighbors. All of this is caused by world economic processes. Nevertheless, we have to complete this year adequately preventing falling of the country's economic indicators," the Head of State said.
The President stressed that no conditions should aggravate social situation in the country. Nursultan Nazarbayev also highlighted that the Government should develop scenarios meant to deal with various directions of the world markets development and probable signs of a crisis.
In his turn, Massimov said that a special working group was set up by the Government jointly with the National Bank to respond to various developments. Nine Kazakhstani universities are among the best universities in the world, Vice-Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Tahir Balykbaev said. "According to QS ratings our higher education institutions are among Top 300. These universities include Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. Eurasian National University named after Gumilev is included in the Top-400," voiced T.Balykbaev during a briefing at the Central Communications Service.
Moreover, 7 more Kazakhstani universities were included in the Top 800.
He recalled that in 2010 there was signed the Bologna process, in accordance with which a number of principles in the field of education have been implemented in Kazakhstan. "Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2015-2019 will reach 5,6 - 6,8 percent per year," said Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev during the presentation of the forecast of the country's socio-economic development for 2015-2019. "The real GDP growth is projected at 5,6 - 6,8 percent. In 2015 the nominal GDP will reach KZT 45 trillion and in 2019 - KZT 72, 8 trillion," said Y.Dossayev. According to him, the projected level of oil price in 2015-2019 will be USD 90 per barrel. "The national budget expenditures will grow up by 2,6% in 2015 against 2014," Kazakh Finance Minister Bakhyt Sultanov said September 15 representing the draft law On the national budget for 2015-2017 in Astana. "The 2015 budget expenditures are projected up to KZT 7 trillion 307 billion that is 2,6% more as compared to the current year. Expenditures will go up by 6,7% in 2016 against 2014 to make KZT 7 trillion 797 billion, and KZT 8 trillion 100 billion in 2017.
"The budged deficit will decrease from 2,2% to GDP in 2015 to 1,7% to GDP in 2017. The budget shortfall will make KZT 998 bln in 2015, KZT 1 trillion 59 billion in 2016, and KZT 973 bln in 2017," he added. September 15 - 18 Copenhagen (Denmark) was hosting the 64 session of the Regional Committee of the WHO Regional Office. Kazakhstan, along with France, Malta and Sweden received the support of the Regional Committee of the WHO Regional Office to become a full member of the Executive Board of WHO for 2015-2018.
Kazakhstan delegation informed participants of the session on the activities within the framework of the State Program "Salamatty Kazakhstan". The delegation was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Salidat Kairbekova.
At the invitation of the Kazakh delegation in November of the current year UN international experts on motherhood and childhood will visit our country.
