On Monday, October 24, Kazakh Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova told the Governmental Hour at the Kazakh Majilis that for nine months of 2011, 11 thousand enterprises have been vetted for compliance with labor standards. International and national labor standards were introduced at 916 large industrial enterprises. At the beginning of 2010 there was introduced a system of risk assessment. Last year the state labor inspectorate checked about 4 thousand enterprises. It was found that 28 percent of Kazakhstan's industrial enterprises had high level of risk. Such enterprises are regularly checked.

As Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov informed via Twitter, Kazakhstan entered the top three countries with the world's highest economic growth rates over the past ten years. According to the survey by Ernst & Young, only Qatar and China are raking ahead of Kazakhstan.

On the same day Massimov attended the sitting of the Nur Otan People's Democratic Party's parliamentary faction, where he announced that the state program on education development for 2011-2020 is a new round to enhance the competitiveness of Kazakhstan. According to UNESCO, Kazakhstan ranks fourth among 129 countries in its Education Development Index. In the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report Kazakhstan ranks 18th for secondary education enrollment. According to the UNDP Human Development Report 2009, Kazakhstan has the 14th highest literacy rate (99.6 per cent).

On Tuesday, October 25, the Kazakh Premier chaired a session of the Republican Budget Commission. The draft resolution "On amendments to the Resolution of the Government of Kazakhstan "On execution of the law of Kazakhstan "On Republican Budget for 2011-2013" was approved. Kazakh Finance Minister Bolat Zhamishev said that the document presupposed reassignment of funds in 2011 between some ministries with the purpose of efficient use and timely disbursement of budgetary funds.

Prime Minister Massimov charged the Finance Ministry to urgently proceed to execution of this regulation jointly with the interested bodies.

The Ministry of Agriculture informed on Tuesday that Kazakhstan's harvest is 99.6% complete. Total grain harvest is 29.1 million tons.

On the same day the Kazakh Prime Minister held a session of the Interdepartmental Commission for Prevention of Offences. The issues regarding prevention of alcoholism and drug addiction among young people, measures to counter illegal migration were considered.

On Wednesday Karim Massimov met with Head of the IMF Mission to Kazakhstan Ana Lucia Coronel. The sides exchanged opinions on the current situation in the world economy, as well as financial and economic development of Kazakhstan.

On Thursday, on the instruction of President Nursultan and in accordance with the Government resolution, Kazakhstan provided humanitarian assistance to Turkey in connection with the devastating earthquake in this country.

Humanitarian aid in the form of 5,065 tons of canned meat, 12 tons of buckwheat, 20 ten-seat winter tents, 20 ovens for heating, 200 blankets, 1 ton of tea, 15 tons of pasta was delivered to the destination by the aircrafts of the Kazakh Ministry of Emergencies from the city of Almaty.
