We strive to export agro products: Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda region

 - Our region is pertinent to the presentation held in Almaty. Earlier provisional agreement on twinning arrangements was achieved between the Kyzylorda region akim and Hainan Governor. Signing of the agreement which envisages all the aspects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, agriculture is expected in the nearest future.

 What did representatives of Hainan bring to Almaty?

 Within the previous negotiations in Hainan our partners proposed to continue the dialogue in Almaty within the tourist presentation. They presented a great number of agricultural products in Almaty to demonstrate the great opportunities of the agricultural sector of Hainan. Within our negotiations with the Chinese specialists special attention was paid to potential cooperation in selective rice growing technology.   

 In our region the average yield makes up 40 centners per one hectare, whereas in Hainan it is 95%. I believe that with their technologies appliede, we can achieve the yield of 50-60% and it will be a good progress in our agriculture.    

 Other than new rice growing technologies, what else is your region interested in?

 Another direction of possible cooperation is agro products processing of which is well developed in Hainan. Fish processing of is an interesting direction as well. We are ready to cooperate in these fields. A few months ago the sides signed a protocol of intent on cooperation.

 You have mentioned tourism and education as well.

 We plan to organize exchange programs among students and teacher, and different training programs. As for the tourist industry, I would like to note that Kyzylorda region has a significant potential in this field. The Aral Sea, unique Kambash Lake, Baikonur cosmodrome and others are places for foreigners to visit.  

 What can you say about investment projects?

  The Chinese financial sector is developed very well. And our region has great opportunities in realization of investment projects, and attraction of investments. Significant labor resources of the region can promote construction of plants and new productions. Our partners are already interested in investing a range of projects in our region. I believe that we can achieve very good results in this field.

 I would like to note that there is a part of the Chinese capital in Kyzylorda region, mostly in the oil field. I can state that they repay all social obligations.  

 Will your partners try to sell their products here?

 No, they will not.  It seems to be unprofitable due to the distance between our region and the province. The emphasis will be laid on production in our region. The Chinese side is interested in cultivation of our local traditional sorts of rice, increase of their yield. Besides, they are interested in processing of horticultural products.

 Will this promote implementation of the food program?

 Definitely. The program is being successfully realized in Kyzylorda region. The Governor of the region decided to provide all populated areas with irrigation water. In this regard the population cultivates many crops. The yield will increase year by year. It will require processing and storage. In this regard we want to adopt the Chinese experience.
