He noted that the Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan formed a modern innovation environment, mobilizing its scientific potential, leading international staff and talented youth of the country.

"Nazarbayev University becomes the core of a new innovation cluster" said Deputy Prime Minister.

E.Orynbaev stressed the need for national and international companies to be given the opportunity to place on the territory of the Nazarbayev University their own infrastructure of production and research units.

In a short time at Nazarbayev University the right system managed to be built for promotion of innovative ideas of scientists. The strategy of the Nazarbayev University for 2013-2020 marked a new stage in the development of the higher education institution, he said.

"The strategy identifies the main long-term goals and direction to ensure the dynamic development of the University with the aim of becoming its advanced model of higher education, which is the benchmark for all universities in the country," said Deputy Prime Minister.

"The main task of the university is educating scientists and professionals, executives and entrepreneurs needed for the dynamic development of Kazakhstan, as well as formation of our nation's capital as an international center of knowledge and innovation," stated E.Orynbaev.

As believed by him, for collegiality and transparency of policy-making of the educational process of the Nazarbayev University in accordance with international practice there have been established collegial bodies such as the Academic Council, the Scientific Council and the Faculty Council.

E.Orynbaev said that the University would transmit its experience in other universities of the country, not only in academic activities, but also in innovation and application of science to production.

For the higher education of Kazakhstanthe Nazarbayev University is an experimental platform that allows the government to reform existing universities and the creation of new institutions of higher education, he said.
