Washington to hold concert of Kazakh classical music

WASHINGTON.  September 25. KAZINFORM Concert of a renowned Kazakh classical music duo - Gaukhar Murzabekova and Amir Tebenikhin will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 7.30 pm at the Terrace Theater of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F St., NW, Washington, D.C. 20566.

A brilliant violinist, Gaukhar Murzabekova has won huge acclaim both domestically and internationally. She has performed all over the world as a soloist and has worked with great maestros. In Kazakhstan she leads a famous chamber orchestra, "The Kamerata of Kazakhstan".

Virtuoso pianist Amir Tebenikhin is a proud descendant of Kazakhstan's well established musical traditions. He has won top prizes in a number of prestigious competitions, and was trained by some of best mentors in Russia and Germany, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakhstan Embassy in the USA.  

The concert will feature Kazakh musicians playing internationally renowned classical music. The project will become yet another contribution in placing Kazakhstan firmly on the cultural map of the United States.
