Washington held conference on Kazakhstan?s OSCE chairmanship

One of the leading ideologists of the US foreign policy Zbigniew Brzezinski, OSCE Chairman of 2004 ? Bulgarian Foreign Minister in 2001-2005 Solomon Passi, ex-Ambassador of the US to the OSCE Stephan Minikes, President of the International Republican Institute Lorne Kreyner, leading experts on Kazakhstan and the OSCE issues Martha Olcott, Vladimir Sokor, and others took part in the conference. The Kazakh delegation was headed by Ambassador-at-large Madina Zharbusynova. The delegation included Advisor to Kazakh Foreign Minister Talgat Kaliyev and Director of the Kazakh Institute of the European Law and Human Rights Marat Bashimov as well. Upon open debates all participants of the conference admitted the importance and uniqueness of Kazakhstan?s OCSE chairmanship. Kazakhstan is the first Asian country on the post-soviet space that will head the Organization, responsible for security of the European space and advancement of democratic values. The participants noted that our chairmanship will confirm the thesis on Eurasian, uniting nature of the OSCE. The experts laid special emphasize on what the OSCE can achieve in the spheres of its main priorities under the Kazakhstan?s chairmanship.
