Warsaw: Kazakhstan responsibly fulfills international obligations in electoral sphere

Ambassador-at-large of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Madina Dzharbussynova, who heads the Kazakh delegation in the first large sitting on humanitarian dimension after the Astana Summit, has informed the international community within the OSCE Review Conference in Warsaw.

She outlined that 2011 was very important for us in this direction - snap presidential elections in April and regular elections to the Senate in August have been successfully conducted.

"We are grateful to the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for organization of monitoring of the electoral processes as well as fruitful interaction with electoral structures and competent government departments of our country on all issues connected with ensuring legitimacy and transparency of elections," Madina Dzharbussynova said.

As the Kazakh Ambassador emphasized, the ODIHR/OSCE report, published on July 16, recorded a landmark progress for the country in organizing and conducting election activities.

Madina Dzharbussynova expressed gratitude to the ODIHR experts for their assistance in improvement of electoral processes in Kazakhstan in accordance with international standards.
