Voter turnout in Qurultay elections reaches 37.05% - CEC
As of 12:00 pm, voter turnout in the Qurultay elections in Kazakhstan reached 37.05%, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to Nazerke Suyindik, a member of the Central Election Commission, 4,670,816 citizens included on the voter lists had received ballots by midday.
The highest turnout was recorded in Kyzylorda region - 47.59%, followed by Zhetysu region at 47.29%, Turkistan region at 43.14%, and Aktobe region at 42.53%.
The lowest voter turnout was recorded in Almaty at 17.87%. In Astana it was 35.28%, in Atyrau region – 35.84%, in Pavlodar region – 35.74%, in West Kazakhstan region – 35.49%, and in Zhambyl region – 35.54%.
