Vladimir Putin arrives in Astana to attend SCO summit

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the Astana Airport, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Government’s press service.

Putin is expected to attend the SCO summit.


SCO was founded in 2001 by Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Iran, India and Pakistan also joined the organization.
For the past five years commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and SCO member states grew by 56.5% to reach 66 billion US dollars. In January-April this year the intra-SCO trade hit 19.1 billion US dollars.
