Vitriol plant to be launched in Akmola region - governor

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A vitriol plant is set to be launched in Akmola region during the republican teleconference with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, governor of the region Sergei Kulagin said at a Tuesday press conference.
"The plant will come on stream in the town of Stepnogorsk on December 25," governor Kulagin told the press conference at KazMedia Center in Astana. "Projects on construction of a cement works in Yenbekshildersky district, a gold-processing plant in the town of Stepnogorsk, a mining and processing works in Zerendinsky district that will create 900 new workplaces are being implemented in the region as well," Mr. Kulagin noted. He added there are 79 promising projects worth 119 billion tenge in the investment portfolio that may be featured into the Industrialization Map in the future.
