Vincente Loscertales lauds Kazakhstan's prompt preparations for EXPO-2017 in Astana

ASTANA. July 30. KAZINFORM Today, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov has met with Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Vincente Loscertales who is on a working trip to Astana, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the preparations for the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" in Astana.

The head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry briefed the BIE Secretary General on the work of the special State Commission for conduction of the EXPO-2017 event and assured his interlocutor that Kazakhstan will fulfill all obligations.

Minister Idrissov stressed the exhibition is a nationwide project that will give a powerful impulse to Kazakhstan's transition to 'green economy' and is to become a platform for innovations in the field of renewable energy. It is symbolical that this grandiose event will take place right after the celebrations of the 25^th anniversary of Kazakhstan.

V.Loscertales, in his turn, expressed gratitude to the ministry for its active role in the EXPO project and noted Kazakhstan's preparations for the exhibition are quite successful. "Everything is done in line with the schedule and the BIE norms," he said.

The sides agreed to continue close cooperation with the view of successful holding of the EXPO-2017 in Astana.
