Vietnam confirms two more deaths of A/H1N1 influenza

HANOI. September 26. KAZINFORM Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed two more deaths of A/H1N1 influenza, bringing total number of flu deaths in the country to 12, according to a report of the ministry website on Saturday; Kazinform cites Xinhua.

The 30-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City was admitted to the provincial hospital on Monday with fever, coughing and difficulty in breathing. The patient is paralyzed and has obesity, said the report.

He died on Thursday due to pneumonia and respiratory failure. The patient's sample was tested positive to A/H1N1 virus, said the report.

The other case is a 23-year old woman in the central highlands province of Dak Lak. The woman, who had been 36 week pregnant, was taken to a local hospital on Sept. 20 with fever. Three days later, she was transferred to a provincial general hospital as she showed symptoms of fever, coughing and difficulty in breathing. She died on Friday, tested positive to A/H1N1 virus, said the report; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
