Vienna to host Economic Forum for CIS, Eastern Europe 23-25 September

KAZINFORM The 5th Vienna Economic Forum for CIS and Eastern Europe "CIS Financial Markets: New Potential for Investment and Innovation Strategy of the Commonwealth Development" will take part on 23-25 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee; Kazinform refers to BelTA.

The forum will highlight the 20th anniversary of the CIS and interaction between the financial and banking institutions of the CIS and the European Union. Partaking in the forum will be heads of the national banks, representatives of the financial and banking organizations as well as the heads of the largest commercial banks and directors of the innovation and investment companies.

The forum will start with a roundtable to discuss the regional development programs as an efficient instrument to promote investment. On its second day the forum's schedule has two plenary sessions: Financial, Investment and Innovation Infrastructure - a Product of Public-Private Partnership, and the CIS Financial Sector: from Investment Volume to Innovation Advancement Instrument. The annual international bank award ceremony Platinum Key will culminate the meeting.

The forum is organized by the CIS Financial and Banking Council under the auspices of the CIS Executive Committee, the Association of the Regional Banks of Russia, the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe and Rossotrudnichestvo.

The CIS Financial and Banking Council was initiated by the CIS leading financial and commercial institutions. The major goal of the council is to create favorable conditions for an effective operation of the national financial markets in the CIS neighboring states that once made a common economic space. The CIS Financial and Banking Council is in close cooperation with the CIS Executive Committee.

The CIS Financial and Banking Council aims to foster CIS economies through increasing the volume of domestic and interstate investment, promote investment projects, expand economic cooperation, and establish direct links and a dialogue between business and financial circles in the CIS; Kazinform cites BelTA.
