Vienna hosted Kazakh-Austrian business forum

VIENNA-BRUSSELS. May 20. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ A large business forum with the participation of representatives of business circles of Kazakhstan and Austria, the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade, Commerce and Industry Chamber, Atameken Union National Economic Chamber and state bodies and economic organizations of Austria took place in Vienna today. The event was organized within the Days of Kazakhstan in Austria and was held under the aegis of the Kazakhstan Embassy in this country.

The business forum brought together over 170 businessmen, including 60 ones from Kazakhstan. The Kazakh delegation was led by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yedil Mamytbekov. Opening the forum he noted that the EU countries, particularly Austria, were important economic partners for Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan Ambassador to Austria Yerzhan Kazykhanov delivered a welcoming speech. He expressed confidence that the new business contacts will serve for expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial relations between our countries. During the forum the Austrian side was demonstrated economic and investment potential of Kazakhstan. The representatives of SamrukKazyna National Welfare Fund presented a number of certain projects for ensuring mutually beneficial cooperation. Chairman of the Board of ATF Bank in Almaty Alexander Piker, General Manager of OMV/Petrom Kazachstan Anton Baumgartner, Regional Director of VAMED Company Wilhelm Zederbauer made reports on positive work in Kazakhstan. Upon completion of the business-forum heads of companies and banks of the two countries had negotiations. A Final Protocol of the first session of the Kazakh-Austrian Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed.
