"No matter how much money we invest, some federations seem to be unable to do their work properly. For instance, the Football Federation. The example is not far to seek. Our U-21 team lost to the Tajik side at the 2015 Commonwealth Cup in Saint Petersburg. The match against South Africa ended in a draw," he said. However, Saparbayev expressed hope that the new leadership of the federation will demonstrate better results. "Football is one of the most popular sports in Kazakhstan," he added. "Unfortunately, despite the fact the new sports facilities are constructed countrywide and our young footballers are trained in Brazil, there is still no progress." At the same time, Mr. Saparbayev praised Kazakhstan's boxing, weightlifting and tennis federations for demonstrating great results.
